Project Description

Virtual Car Extrication Training

The Virtual Car Extrication system, or VCET, has been created for Resqtec Zumro. Resqtec is an expert in the field of heavy rescue equipment. This rescue equipment is used for the safe extrication of victims after a car crash. The VCET system has been specifically created to train fireman. The VCET system allows the fire department to be trained in car evacuation methods in the virtual world. The big advantage of this method is the diversity of the situation we can create. Currently the fire departments train car extrication techniques on car wrecks in the parking lot. Obviously this hardly compares to real live crash situations where there are totally different variables involved. Because every car crash is different making training in the virtual world offers a lot of freedom. Adding various environment and vehicle types we are able to offer a very comprehensive package of scenarios for the fire department to training in. And above all, The VCET allows our fireman to be prepared for the safe evacuation of actual victims in any situation.
